The Backstory
As a teen, Sharon K. Reamer developed a deep love for speculative fiction including science fiction, horror, and fantasy and acquired an affinity for magical realism. She credits her father with an early induction by his insistence that she watch Frankenstein, Wolfman and Dracula movies with him as soon as she was old enough to scream. Primary Fault is the first novel in her Schattenreich fantasy series.
Sharon studied in geophysics in her adopted home state of Texas. After completing her B.S. and M.S. in geosciences at the University of Texas at Dallas, and her Ph.D. in geosciences from Southern Methodist University, she moved to Germany to start a family and pursue a career as a seismologist. After nearly a decade running in situ ingenieur seismik, a successful geophysical consulting firm, she returned to academia to pursue her interests in research and teaching. At present, she continues to teach at the University of Cologne and is involved with several archaeoseismology projects. She is a member of the American Geophysical Union and the German Geophysical Society.
Sharon lives in Overath, Germany, on the outskirts of Cologne with her husband, son, and Ramses the cat.
